Creating a Collage of Pictures
I thought it would be best for me to show you how easy it can be to create a collage of pictures. I know there are a lot of you out there that like the pictures you take and you want to be able to make things look the best. I know that I had trouble with this. I would just throw pictures in a photo album and it never really flowed that well. Pictures bounced all over the place and it was quite difficult for others to go through a piece together properly and effectively. Tell a Story The whole point of a collage is to tell a story. A picture is one thing and sure you can learn a lot from the picture, but you never really get the story behind it. This isn’t an easy task for most people because if you were to tell a story, you’d just write it, but you have to show the story with pictures. I can’t really gice you exact directions because it all depends on the types of pictures you take, but there are a few loose rules that you can follow. Chronological order is something that works quite well. Obviously the best way to tell a story is by doing it in the order that it happened. Obviously if you’re creating a collage of pictures for a wedding you’re not going to start with the bride and groom getting into their limo and driving off. You want to put it in the order of the events because that makes the most sense. That rule isn’t locked in stone because it doesn’t necessarily tell the story the best. To continue on with the example on the wedding, sometimes starting with everyone arriving and getting out of their cars doesn’t really fit. You might want to start with the build up to the climax (the kiss) and than the celebration afterwards where all the people are introduced. The choice is yours when you pick how the story is going to be done. Obviously whatever you think is going to properly tell the story is the one that you should go with, but those are a few ways you can go about it. Like any collage, you don’t have to stick fully with the pictures. You can keep it mainly pictures and add in a few little things from the wedding. Things as simple as an invitation is enough to really jump start the story. You always have to think outside of the box when it comes to something like this.
